Looking for the best eyelash glue?
Choosing a false eyelash glue is a key step for any eyelash builder. The right eyelash glue will support the speed of construction, cause no irritation and last but not least, make your work long lasting.
Because of the different circumstances, there is no one glue that works for everyone, but here's how to choose the best one for you.
To choose the right glue, you need to consider the following
Building speed
As a beginner, you will probably need an adhesive with a slower setting time, as it may take longer to isolate and fit the eyelashes at first. With practice, the eyelash building process will get faster and faster, so you may need a faster and faster glue. For experienced eyelash stylists, we now offer super-fast glues that bond in 0.5-1sec, which are fast and efficient. It's important to choose the right glue for your speed, as if you choose a glue that's too fast, the glue will set before the lash is applied, which will not give you a long-lasting result. If you choose a glue that is too slow, this can lead to adhesions and isolation errors, which will damage the natural pillow tissue and also not produce a long-lasting result.
The above problems can be perfectly avoided by using UV LED technology and UV LED adhesives, which will be discussed later.
The Long Lashes eyelash glue range includes both slower and faster glues to ensure that everyone can find the right one for them.
Construction technique, construction sequence
Slow setting eyelash adhesives are best recommended for application of 1D classic technique. Double or volume eyelash sets require more precision and speed due to the increased amount of fibres, which requires a much faster setting time eyelash adhesive.
As far as the construction sequence is concerned, the construction sequence that we consider to be the most efficient is: eyelash stripping - picking up the tuft(s) from the glue strip - dipping into glue - gluing. Of course, it's up to you how you like to build your lashes, but we think it's much better to isolate the desired lashes before dipping them into the glue, as in some cases the isolation can take longer than average, so you can lose precious seconds after dipping them into the glue. In order to achieve maximum durability in every corner of the lash line, you need to work at the same pace on every part of the lash line. Usually the outer and inner lash line can be the boogey man. In these areas, it is especially important to pay attention to the correct lash building sequence.
Using UV LED technology, the build order becomes irrelevant as the glue will set when the UV light flashes, giving you enough time to isolate and position during the build.
Temperature and humidity in your room
To choose the best eyelash glue, it is essential to know the temperature and humidity of your room, as these two factors have a significant impact on the properties and effectiveness of the eyelash glue. Generally speaking, the higher the temperature and humidity, the faster the eyelash glue will set. At low temperatures and low humidity, the setting time of the eyelash glue slows down. Most eyelash adhesives can form the most secure bonds at room temperature and 40-60% humidity, so you can create long-lasting sets under these conditions.
You can control the temperature and humidity in your room with devices such as a humidifier or dehumidifier or air conditioner, depending on the results you want to achieve. Each Long Lashes eyelash glue has a description of the conditions under which it works best and a Long Lashes heat and humidity meter will keep you up to date with the temperature and humidity in your room. This tool is a must-have for all eyelash builders, as keeping track of this information is essential for proper glue application.
Evaporation
Eyelash extensions have now grown into an entire industry, resulting in a large number of professionals who work exclusively in the eyelash building industry. This means that eyelash stylists are constantly exposed to the harmful effects of glue vapour for 6-8-10 or even more hours a day. In some cases, the allergens in the eyelash glue can saturate the body, leading to allergies. Not only professionals but also more allergen-sensitive guests are exposed to the harmful effects of glue vapour. It is therefore very important to choose a low-vapour glue and to do everything possible to prevent allergies. Prevention is of paramount importance in this area, as once an allergy has developed, there is little chance of helping it.
You can reduce the chance of allergic reactions with Long Lashes' special products. Long Lashes glue vapour neutralising gel, for example, binds volatile glue vapour in the air, reducing irritation. And with Long Lashes Superbonder, you can bond the eyelash glue immediately after lash construction. Your guest is not exposed to the glue vapours that result from the glue drying completely for days. We also recommend using a particle filter mask as often as possible.
Our tests have shown that UV LED technology does not cause symptoms in a significant proportion of guests with allergies, so it is safe to use. However, as a responsible professional, always precede construction with an allergy test. Apply 2 to 2 eyelashes with UV LED technology to your guest's eyes and wait 24-48 hours. If during this period your guest experiences itching, swelling, redness, irritation, pain, do not do the construction!
Glue storage, use
Conventional (non-UV LED) eyelash glues degrade steadily after opening and become completely unusable after about a month. It is therefore very important to keep your glue in the right conditions during this time to prevent premature drying.
So it is not enough to choose and buy the right eyelash glue, because if it is not stored and used properly, our favourite glue can start to deteriorate very quickly.
The following tips will help you to preserve the quality of your eyelash glue over time or even prolong its lifespan, which is far from impossible.
- Tip 1.
Store your glue in a dry, cool place away from light before and after opening. The Long Lashes Vacuum Glue Holder is the best choice for this purpose, as this box seals your glue airtight, protects it from light and ensures even humidity. You can store up to 3 glues at a time.
- Tip 2.
Keep the beak of your glue clean. Wipe the beak of your glue clean and close the cap tightly each time you dispense. It's important not to use cotton material for this purpose. The Long Lashes Fiberless Glue Beak Wiper will not react with the glue, will not clog the glue beak, and will help you keep your glue perfectly clean.
- Tip 3.
Eyelash glues generally form the most durable bond at 40-50% humidity. It is therefore important to ensure the right humidity in the room where you are working. To do this, you should get a humidity meter and, if necessary, a humidifier or dehumidifier.
- Tip 4.
Change your glue frequently while extending your eyelashes. If you notice that the dripped glue is getting thicker and sticky, it's time to drip it again. With this simple tip, you can increase the durability of your sets so your guests will return to you satisfied.
- Tip 5.
All professional eyelash glues lose their quality after about 1 month of use. So it's best to start with a smaller version. If your glue becomes too thick and sticky, your lashes will not last. So make sure you use the right consistency of glue.
